Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) Project

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) Project

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) Project by Andy’s Web

Search Engine Optimisation, also know as SEO, is, according to Wikipedia,

“is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via “natural” (”organic” or “algorithmic”) search results.”

This in effect means creating a situation where your website is found through search engines, for instance Google.

Andy’s Web Search Engine Optimisation project is designed to do just that.

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) Project

£500

A SEO project is perfect for any of our Website Design Packages or our eCommerce Website Design Packages.

Recent SEO successes, Alternatestyle.co.uk andEmeraldAngel.co.uk have recently achieved a high pagerank of three from Google. (Pagerank is Google’s level of trust in a website.)

Not one SEO solution is the same, but generally this will include the following;

  • notifying major search engines of the websites existence,
  • ensuring the structure and text of the site aids placement in Google and other seach engines,
  • publicising the website through a variety of ways, for instance a Blog,
  • monitor and react to data about visitors usage.
  • this takes 6 weeks to complete.
  • a report is issued at the end of the project demonstrating the inprovement’s.

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

Search Engine Optimisation, SEO, not only applies to regular websites but to Blogs as well. Here are 10 top tips that I have learnt from my Blog and my Website design business, Andy’s Web

Getting your Blog on Googles first page is brilliant. My Doctor Who Blog, has been consistently on Google’s first page when searching ‘doctor who blog’. Here are 10 top tips that will help improve the SEO to your Blog.

1, Write original and interesting content in your Blog, it may seem obvious but the better the content the more relevant readers and search engines will think of it. Keep up-to-date on your area and don’t be afraid to experiment with styles and ideas.

2, Use a content management system such as Wordpress, this is easy to update and creates RSS (live bookmark) feeds which can be used by readers to subscribe to your content.

3, Choose the Blogs title and description well, use key phrases where possible but keep it readable.

4, Categories are your friend and everyone else’s, use them sparingly, keep them to a minimum and only one to be used with each post.

5, Tags, they make the Blog easy to find for everyone. These are composed of the main keywords/phrases of your blog. A tag cloud is a very good tool, (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/hs-tag-cloud/)

6, Encourage comments, and watch out for Spam. Comments allow the read to interact with your blog. They may also attract further attention for search engines. It is advisable to screen comments as irrelevant content could put off your readers.

7, Promote your blog with a complimentary Facebook group, this really works as it increases your expose across the globe and gives yet another avenue for people to monitor and discuss the issues you raise.

8, Submit your blog to relevant directories and websites. Don’t flood every site but be selective.

9, Trace your blogs performance with Google Analytics using one of the many plug-ins, see what posts do well and write more like them.

10, Use Google webmaster tools, and other search engine web master tools to submit a sitemap generated by the plugin Google XML sitemaps. .
